Hm. Converting from QBX 7 to something like Watcom or DJGPP would be a LOT easier than converting from VBDOS (safe insofar as VBDOS code can be written that is in fact just QBX code).
When I first started learning C, most of my code was written in QBX. I can still operate in both languages.
