I think it's pointless arguing over this matter. Desmet-C is, as far as I checked, a reasonably looking C compiler that is able to produce working executables. I need no more intel. If anyone invests time into doing a package of it, then it's up to actual developers to choose whatever tool they prefer. Some like TurboC, and that's fine. Other prefer OpenWatcom, and some might be inclined to use Desmet-C. Whatever works.
