so my conjectural explanation was correct, as you write that Chris has
already used tag beta 17. I do not see how I was supposed to extract this
information from your initial email.
It seems that your email has mainly been addressed to Chris. If this indeed
were so, starting the email with "Hello Chris", "Dear Chris" or anything of
the sort would make it clear that the email possibly provides insufficient
context for other people than Chris.
If however the email was addressed to anyone one the list, then providing
sufficient context, by relating the fact that Chris has already started
tagging some files with beta 17, would be in order.
