Hello,

until now there have been not too much spam in the freemind wiki. Therefore I
was able to care about removing it controlling recent changes and doing page
rollbacks when needed. In the last time the amount of the spam increased and
therefore other measures should be taken. To see it visit

http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Special:Recentchanges

In this mail I want to describe what could be done although I have not time to
do it myself.

I think that FreeMind should switch from the old wiki to the wiki hosted by the
sourceforge because there all users register with their sourceforge accounts
and there is really less possibilities to write spam. Because we have some
useful extensions, first of all my extension for embedding the mind maps in the
wiki pages and extension for highlighting of groovy example scripts. Somebody
could write a request to the source forge stuff so that they install the wiki
extensions we need. The current wiki configuration with all extensions can be
checked by accessing the web server and looking in localsettings.php and
extension directory in the wiki installation directory. Further steps for
transferring of content from the old to the new location could be necessary.

By writing this mail I want to start a discussion about the wiki spam problem.
It is not a request for immediately doing something but rather an invitation
for starting a discussion about the problem.

Regards,
Dimitry
