I agree with Phil....., you need to check your sources
a little bit more thoroghly.  Just as any code that
you write is governed by the copyright & licensing you
wish to attach to it in C/C++, Pascal, etc. -- the
same applies to Java.  This is really the same issue
as with TrueType [(r) MicroSoft Corporation] and
PostScript [(r) Adobe Enterprises Inc.] type fonts. 
The data that describes how to create the font is
owned by somebody else, but you still own whatever you
create with it (assumming that you use it only as a
tool...; by convention references are okay, but
citations are another matter altogether).
