Use InnoDB and not MyISAM tables if you have a lot of accounting records . The MyISAM global table lock will create big problems when the radacct tables starts getting larger and you use things like dialup_admin which do a lot of big sql queries. The only thing about MySQL for Authentication/Authorization is that it is used only for freeradius. You could use LDAP instead and base all your services on it.
