Yes, you can pipe a midi file into it, but IIRC it still needs a midi
file and not a raw chain of midi events.

I was thinking about getting raw events INTO timidity. Output I don't
particularly care about, as it can do anything. :) It looks like the
you can have it "fake" the /dev/sequencer interface, and it has some
kind of "server" that might do what I want. Not sure... still reading
through the source, as the only mention of said server is in the
changelog...
