Assert non-presence of monsters. 'heapfree'. If you have less free
memory, you *might* have a problem- in that case, lather, rinse, and
repeat.
I did this, and didn't notice any incremental decrease in free heap
memory. I didn't get a chance to do any of the use cases below, maybe I'll
get to them tomorrow.
