On the development branch, the emap[] breaks things. In the release
branch, it is needed.

This is currently broken in the release branch. The first restore fails
(soundserver restore fails), the second time it works and then the game
will usually lock up.
Alex, could you please look at this and make the fewest changes necessary
to fix it in the release branch?
