Maybe my local source got messed up? This happens with CVS from time to
time (even on linux), in my experience. I'll delete my source directory
and reget and let you know if it still exists.

Right now, I seem to have problems building the Debug build. Can you test
this?

Try it with some of the savegames @
http://www.clock.org/~matt/freesci/hq1-save.zip . Right now, "got seed"
causes FreeSCI to exit immediately (using the event_ss).
