Hi all, If someone without a DSP background wanted to understand more about speech coding, where would they start? Are there any digestible books which explain the different approaches?
I've had a quick look around Google and found this: http://www.ee.ucla.edu/~spapl/paper/mark_eot156.pdf - is that a good introduction? My aim is to have a bit more understanding of how codec2 works, what makes it different (from a technical perspective) to other LPC codecs, and to be able to follow the conversations when people are talking about different codec approaches.
