It is true that the major problem with getting a Raspberry Pi in the US 
is the cost of shipping and the delay because Newark Electronics (and 
its divisions MCM and Element14) have a national monopoly. I actually 
ordered some Raspi peripherals from the UK which cost less to ship to 
the US and arrived in half the time. I would expect to see these things 
at swap meets, sold by people who bought them in bulk. That's what 
clones are for, I guess.
