I can build both the libraries but i have yet to understand octave :)
I've got the following packages installed if that helps:
octave-audio-1.1.4-7.fc18.x86_64
octave-image-1.0.15-4.fc18.x86_64
octave-3.6.4-1.fc18.x86_64
