It cites about 50 other patents of DVSI and others, some of which cite David's thesis.
My suspicion is that there were trade secrets before 2003 that DVSI decided to patent in order to make the APCO disclosure more palatable to their business. I will ask John Ackermann if there is a way to use late disclosure to invalidate a patent. DVSI was definitely aware of David's thesis. Interesting that AMBE has to use VQ and we do not.
