Perhaps you have the sideband inverted? Nin is how many samples the
modem thinks it needs to complete decoding a frame.

Hi
I am new to this list and to the topic of freeDV. But I have built a
Software-TRX (STRX), which controls a HPSDR system with
Mercury,Pennylane and Metis. My system is Linux - openSUSE 13.1
Now, I have used the codec2 shared library from SVN 1324 to implement
freeDV directely in my STRX (no soundcards etc). For my current tests, I
am using 1400 code2-mode and 14 carriers for fdmdv. So, I am processing
320 Samples@8kHz.
For the TX-Side, there was no problem. I could verify, that the
fdmdv_mod() - output is correct (by using the fdmdv_demod and
c2dem-Programs).
So, I assume, that the TX-Side is ok.
But now I try to get the RX-Side running. I have looked into the
testprogram fdmdv_demod, how to do this. But I don't get a correct
demodulation just with the data from the TX-side (not over HF!) in my STRX.
When tracing the loop of fdmdv_demod-program with a modemtestfile, I see
that reliable_sync_bit is toggling between 0 and 1.
Does it not tell, wether the sync is ok? So, for a good input, after a
while, it should be stable?
I don't understand, what is going on:
Questions:
a) what is the exact meaning of reliable_sync_bit
b) what is the exact meaning of the nin?
c) I would like to process 320Samples@8kHz using two fdmdv_demod()
calls. How to get it stable?
Sorry for my questions.
