Thanks for the offer for help.  So far, the three issues I'm seeing are:

    1. When using the serial PTT approach (my preferred way), I think 
the libctb library is always asserting DTR when I need to use RTS only.  
That's bad as this DTR signal is asserting PTT and my US Interface 
Navigator's CW tone.

    2. If I try to use Hamlib (seems to be statically compiled into 
FreeDV [a bad thing as I already have Hamlib installed], FreeDV coredumps

    3. If I select Tools --> FIlter, FreeDV instantly coredumps.

I'll wait to see if Richard can post some new RPMs either publicly or 
privately to see if that resolves my issues.  If no, I can compile from 
source to see if the top of tree has any additional improvements.


Ps.  I know the libctb and hamlib issues have been ongoing but you might 
consider looking at some integration with Flrig as well.  It has strong 
radio support, XML and TCP interfaces, etc.
