For a HT spatial diversity is obviously nuts.  For a mobile-- antenna
on the roof and trunk or on opposite sides is completely reasonable,
likewise for base station operation (e.g. home).

There is a segment of the market which is interesting in 'pimping
their rig', -- instead of  spending $8000 on some chrome plated deluxe
model which is hardly any better, they can setup up a diversity
antenna for a big win. I think accommodating this well through the
whole stack would be satisfying some unmet demand.
