I'll try to re-nice the process to bring up its priority. That's an
easy experiment to do.
I thought it was interesting that both machines behaved the same way...
that is, transmitting in either direction between the PCs saw the same
effects. If I swap out either PC for a Pi, the effect is also the
same. The CPU load for 700D isn't all that different from 1600... on
the Pi-1 it's probably 10% higher. On the PCs, the CPU load is very small.
The GOOD news is that David's latest patch allowed my Pi-based project
to work as well as the PC version for 700D, at least in my local
testing. So that's a nice step forward. :)
