I applaud that it is in the Fedora package list, but will note I haven't used
my Fedora machine for almost a year...Sent from my Galaxy

[Freetel-codec2] Change to static codec2 for internal builds of
FreeDV? Hi Richard,> I just went through a painful update and dependency

the pain points were?Another question I've been pondering - do you have any
evidence thatanyone is actually using the Fedora FreeDV packages? The reason I
ask is that for some reason we get a lot traffic/requestsfrom package
maintainers ... which translates to a lot of effort. Butthe on-air usage
numbers of FreeDV are quite low and we know most ofthem are Windows users. A
proportion of Linux uses (Fedora orotherwise) will likely build from source in
order to obtain the latest. So I am wondering if the package maintainers
outnumber users of theFreeDV packages they maintain.  I'd like to do a sanity
check - makesure the effort involved is actually helping end users and the
FreeDVproject.Thanks,David_______________________________________________Freetel-codec2
