Try placing the contents of the quick order screen into the welcome
screen.

Probably not. Try it out.

Do not create any departments. Just add them all to the "root"
department. By the way, no one has tried this yet, so I am anxious to

Hmm, it would appear that this is a bug. As I hinted at earlier,
allowing items to not belong to any actual department has not really
been tested, since we did not previously allow this. There may also be
some bug in the code to delete items and SKUs. I'll look into this.
Perhaps you can look into it as well.
