Gentoo is really nice with freevo because everything works good with the system packages. but i don't know how up-to-date the current ebuilds are (freevo-runtime ebuild used to compile some sort of runtime exclusivly for freevo, and i didn't like that). There is a cvs ebuild class, so someone could even make cvs ebuilds.
