I think at present freevo is maturing fast, and in that sense so should the design philosophy to go with it. Skins and themes can play with the design as much as they like, I'm not going to restrict the way in which themers use it, or if they use it at all. (I have SVG sources for anyone who wants them) Remember also that the V/O is a device, like the coca cola bottle cap or the harp on a pint of Guinness. We can be as playful as we like with the rest of it. I'm taking time to investigate colour schemes, styles and lots of other aspects of the design of freevo, I'd like to see users take freevo from an out of the box situation while feeling at home the whole time. By following a strict design template for the website/default skin people will feel a lot more comfortable with freevo. Freevo 2.0 is currently a blank canvas, its like a car with an engine and no body work, when it comes to release time we should have a certain wow factor of how good it looks. Like the first time i opened up my Mac and was awe inspired by the time and effort put into the design. I'd like to hear what dirk has to say about the state of skins in 2.0, and given some time over the next two evenings I may just have some cool layouts and some nice eye candy to keep you tempted. One thing which is getting to me alot of recent is the overuse of the blue colour, blue is a depressing colour (thats why they call it the blues) it is also cold and unwelcoming, red is too strong and angry and green is patented by microsoft for use on the xbox (no one else can use green anymore, its such a shame and i believe the irish are up in arms about it) I'm looking at soft orange/yellows and i've already got some good results. I get a warm inviting feeling from my freevo now, i like it and I hope when it comes to release time for the theme you lot will too.
