Great stuff, thanks. Tested vbi2srt 0.1.7 and it seems to work as advertised ;-) Although i got a couple of questions.
- is the additional locale setting really needed before starting recordserver because when i set the locale LANG=US or LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 python crashes on me. File "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/mmpython/mediainfo.py", line 85, in ? LOCAL_ENCODING = locale.getpreferredencoding(); File "/usr/lib/python2.3/locale.py", line 417, in getpreferredencoding setlocale(LC_CTYPE, "") File "/usr/lib/python2.3/locale.py", line 381, in setlocale return _setlocale(category, locale) locale.Error: unsupported locale setting If needed where is the best place to put it because i don't start freevo from the cmd line ?. And isn't there a locale setting in freevo itself that can be used ? Although it seems to work without the locale setting there is some extraneous info in the subtitles for example; 00:08:26,493 --> 00:08:31,056 <c:#FFFF00>Had you got it, you would have had an absolutely perfect round. Is this somehow related to the locale setting ?. - You don't mention anywhere with what version of freevo or ivtv this should work. I'm using freevo 1.5.3 and ivtv 0.4.0, should vbi2srt work with this versions or should i upgrade ? TIA. /Robert On Sunday, January 1, 2006, 2:01:51 PM, Duncan wrote: > Hi all, > vbi2srt-0.1.7 the program that uses an IVTV card to record a TV program > and extract the subtitles is now here. > The only real change from version 0.1.6 is that the default teletext > subtitle page number is now none, which means don't extract subtitles. > I've been using vbi2srt-0.1.7 very successfully for the last week > recording all sorts of stuff on channels with and without VPS data. > http://www.linuxowl.com/software/vbi2srt-0.1.7.tar.bz2 > vbishow-0.1.8 the program that displays vbi data (teletext, vps and wss) > from an IVTV card is also released. > This version works with both Unicode and non-Unicode terminals, two > fonts are included in tar file can be loaded into the X-server and the > font name can passed on the command line or the xterm can be set to use > the font with xtermcontrol --font="...".
