Nice. It would be interesting if you looked at some of the other modules in kaa too. 1.x could be some really great testing ground for this stuff. In particular, kaa.config would be useful, but albeit an enormous task to adopt. There is also kaa.rpc and kaa.db in base, which could be leveraged and is already a dependency.
