Always interested, but maybe we should look at kaa.rpc for this. I've been working on the recordserver code a bit too, if it is slow, then it is more likely the processing of the xmltv stuff that slows down the start-up. What I fine a bit slow is the movement between menu items, I can press the down arrow key five times before the screen has updated and at my typing speed this is slow :) Something is killing the speed not idea what.
