ok, well the remote shell part obviously has nothing to do with it. the
problem i'm running in to is using the dxr3 for tv/sound out. the card
is not framebuffer, so fbxine will not work. i am not running x, so that
rules out xine in x. when i read 'purely osd based xine frontend', i
just think it means its a xine frontend, like the others. are not fbxine
and the x version just frontends as well? maybe i'm not understanding
xine completely.

either way, all i want is to use xine to play dvds. it handles dvds much
nicer than mplayer does, as we all prolly know. i find oxine actually
runs and displays the dvd, unlike the other two. if you can tell me a
way to use xine without running x or framebuffer, please do.

thanks,
