Apologies if this is in the archives somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to get 1.4rc1 (the binary package) running on my Debian Testing box, but whenever I fix one problem it seems like another one appears.
So, what are the required installed packages to complete the setup.py script? I got past the "no module distutils.core" and now I think it complains about "no module distutils.version". I've tried installing python2.3-dev 2.2.106-2beta2.deb but that's probably wrong :) I will also have to get XFree86 running on this box again which is apparently harder than it looks - whatever I try it can't seen to find the "fixed" font.
