I've found the quality of the PVR250 to be exceptional. I typically
record at 720x480 and a low bitrate of around 2mbits... if you up the
quality to the maximum of 16mbits, I imagine it'll be stellar. 

I didn't find my Hauppauge TV card to have bad quality though, but it
was a different model.
