Hi all. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this works, but I've got some initial questions.
I've got a K6-2 400Mhz machine that I'm using as a fileserver/router. If I buy a good card for it, could I use this machine as the freevo server? Or do I need to buy another (dedicated?) machine? Eventually, I'd also like to add VOIP. So I'm a bit concerned about how much horsepower this will need. If I have to buy another machine, can I save video to the fileserver via nfs? What I eventually want is to be able to record television programs like I would with a VCR, except I'd like to have more than 4-6 programming slots and I'd like to be able to select pre-recorded programming from a menu or even re-broadcast it at a later date, say on channel 3. Am I barking up the right tree? Thanx, Mike ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, 16-19 November in Las Vegas.
