OK, next try: please run:
lynx http://freevo.sf.net/install.sh -dump | bash -e

This should install Freevo and the runtime into /usr/local/freevo if
you have write permissions or ~/freevo if not. Please let me know if
this works.

All the rpms on the download page are _very_ confusing. This needs a
cleanup!

I hope this line above is simple enough. But I don't want one package
with Freevo and the runtime to avoid big download packages.

If someone know an easy way to install mplayer, please tell me.
