BTW2: What I do find strange is that the (LCD) display indicates that the mp3 is shorter than it is?! At the end of the last song it says it has just played 3:53 of 3:44.
oh this is just weird UI. 3:53 / 3:44 should not be read as 3:53 OF 3:44. Suggestion to swap those two values in the UI.
BTW: the LCD does stay on the lst tracke played if mplayer does not play the entire song.

Sorry for the confusion. I got the runtime from the separate rpms which I got off the dependencies file on sourceforge. I did not get the rc4.tgz
BTW: I also do not get this crash repeatedly in every mp3 file. BTW2: What I do find strange is that the (LCD) display indicates that the mp3 is shorter than it is?! At the end of the last song it says it has just played 3:53 of 3:44. In fact the LCD display stays on this even while the main display has already returned to the menu?!

hi,
i have downloaded rpm for freevo 1.4 rc4 (everything and also runtime). When i run the command freevo setup at a terminal session i have this message:
If you've downloaded the freevo 1.4rc4 rpm and installed the dependency rpms (listed in freevo-deps.txt), you don't need the runtime. In addition, you shouldn't download/install the freevo*tgz since it's already part of the rpm (tgz and rpms don't mix).
Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1, in ? ImportError: No module named freevo
Are you sure you have the freevo rpm installed? It should have /usr/bin/freevo, and /usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/freevo/*.
Somehow the freevo you're executing isn't able to locate the freevo modules. This implies that you're running the freevo*tgz installed freevo from a local directory (not /usr/bin/freevo).
