newegg.com has great prices.

get one of the K7som+ boards that have a Duron 1800+ soldered on the board.
they cost $99.00 but require pc2100 ram. have built on video/audio but
installing a pci video card overrides the built on video.. you cant get
cheaper than that with motherboard+processor. for a > 1ghz.

good luck with the ATI AIW board though. the capture on the AIW's is iffy
at best and will not work with mencoder.

Subject: [Freevo-users] Where to get a good fast MB/processor?

Where can I pick up a cheap barebones system (MB/processor) fast enough for
fully functional freevo use? I really dont need another case/power supply
and I have plenty of fast memory sticks and a ATI AIW board. No built-in
video subsystem please. I live in the USA.

What is fast enough? I see 1GHz tossed around but is that a P3/P4/Athelon?

I am trying to do this on a unemployeed guy type of budget. :)

TIA,

Bill
