Your right, I always expected mplayer to play the longest track, but
asking in the mplayer mailinglist learned me that it's indeed the first
one.

lsdvd already gives the longest track, so that info could be used in
mmpython to pass it to the mplayer or xine plugin.
An option in local_conf.py like SHOW_DVD_MENU should do the rest.
I will try to hack around after holliday, but since python is the (in my
eyes) most unlogical language I've ever seen it will take some time.
