Video works fine for me through VNC on a 100mbps network. You need to
export the root window of the linux box. Just following the directions
at http://www.realvnc.com/v4/x0.html. I use my laptop and VNC all the
time to control Freevo.

First big issue you are going to have is that Video over VNC is more
or less a no-go.. As far as using VNC to control freevo, you will need
to set up VNC to export a copy of the desktop. The basic user
interface and contorls should work fine.
