Wouldn't it be easier to do it with X or Xnest ? From a remote box, you can issue :
X (or Xnest) :n -query hostname Where n is the new session and hostname is the name (or ip) of the box running freevo. If you're behind a firewall, you need to open TCP 6002 insted of VNC port (I guess it's 5900). Alternatively, you can use rdesktop... VNC is heavy, bloathed and unsecure (IMO). Plus it's slow and unstable... Try Xnest it's really better (and it's linux native) !!!
