Hi Folks!

Recently I installed the educational games "Childsplay" into my Freevo box (as
well as PPracer), and I'm looking at other educational games for my kids. I'm
not a gamer, so I'm not really all that fluent in what makes a great gamepad.
I know there are drivers for the Xbox 360 wireless controller, and some for the
Wiimote. I think the Wiimote concept is the probable better choice, but I'm
not sure about the maturity of the Linux drivers. So, here I am asking for a
few opinions before I decide what I'm going to do, as I have a lot of respect
for the expertise and community spirit of the folks on this list.

Here are my specific questions:

As a general purpose gaming controller, how does the 360 compare to the
Wiimote? (Under Linux or on their native platforms). I know it's apples vs
oranges to some extent, but I'm thinking primarily of general
compatibility/usability with a variety of game types, by non-gamer type adults
and young kids.

How are the Linux drivers? The xpad ones have been around a while, and use the
joystick subsystem, so they are really stable. How are the CWiid drivers?
Does xpad also offer mouse pointer capability?

Anything I've missed? Thanks in advance for any opinions provided, and have a
great weekend!

/Mike
