Before this try,

| Hi Tanja,
|
| Sure - I used df_xine, there's also fbxine but I never knew what the
| difference was, I just got df_xine to work first. I'll try have a look
| over the weekend and see if I have any notes at home that might help.

The only real complication was the directfcrc file, attached is one that
I used, one day I would like to buy a new monitor that has TV input so
that I can use it again. What I find really strange is that no
manufacturer has developed a graphics card, except Matrox, that can do
good TV out, it will still be quite a few years before we are all on HDTV.

Which version of df_xine are you using, from what I can see from the
firectfb.org page is that the directfb-extra modules are stil lagging
behind the core. You will need the version out of GIT if you are using
1.1.1, older versions may be okay.

Compile with:
CFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium3 -mtune=pentium3 -fno-pic -mmmx -msse -pipe" \
~ ./autogen.sh \
~ --prefix=/usr \
~ --enable-static \
~ --enable-shared \
~ --enable-mmx \
~ --disable-imlib2 \
~ --enable-pnm \
~ --enable-svg \
~ --disable-openquicktime \
~ --disable-avifile \
~ --disable-libmpeg3 \
~ --disable-flash \
~ --enable-xine \
~ --enable-swfdec \
~ --disable-ffmpeg \
~ 2>&1 | tee .configure.out

With the version as of today ffmpeg may work too.

I see that you are using 1.0.1 but the options may help.
