Dear all,
Thanks for all that hostname info. It's now sorted and vsd-vsbatch.pl
seems to grind away nicely.
Anyway, just thought I'd give my pennies worth...
(1) Could you add an
echo "*** Please enter the FQDN of the host when it asks you for
the Common Name ***"
at the start of vsd-genca?
(2) Could vsdadm be a bit more verbose when it fails ("Segmentation
fault: core dumped" isn't the most explanatory message I've received
;-) This segmentation fault also occurs doing ...
vsdadm no_such_command [args]
which can be quite confusing (and nasty looking!) when you've just
mistyped a command!
(3) When you install freevsd-pkgs RPM, couldn't it check for
/usr/local/etc/vsd/freevsd.conf so that the $add_ons line doesn't need
to be added manually (source install). I forgot and am currently
recreating my skel (ls : command not found - doh!)
(4) Perhaps vsd-install could check for the hostname issue (i.e.
'hostname' != first entry in /etc/hosts) and display a message? Or
perhaps check for hostname not containing a "." and warn that this is
not recommended?
Cheers,
