I tested first on my local box, with kernel 2.4.5 which happened to be sitting
there waiting to build. I'm not sure how to properly test for glibc level, but it
seems to be 2.1.3 - and was upgraded by the freevsd 'add-on' rpm. Hmmm.
I was under the distinct impression that these rpms were only supposed to
go into the skel, *not* into the host system. Reading through vsd-genskel.pl
confirms that the target is $skelroot (ln 207). The same thing happened on the
remote server with glibc upgrading itself.

Anyway, it built and booted OK locally, so I grabbed 2.4.6 on the remote and
went ahead. Again, it built and booted without problem. Everything so far seems
to run, though reading between the lines at RedHat I should probably expect
to have to rebuild odd things due to the new glibc.

Now to set up iptables ...
