You do not need to have freeVSD modules for every service you choose to run.
freeVSD modules make it possible to simplify the configuration of a service
(such as sendmail) into clear, indiviual steps but also provide security
(through using SSL authentication/encryption) and reliability (through
syntax/sanity checking of user input). Because no module exists for Postfix
it is not possible to manipulate postfix via the freeVSD protocol. The
alternative is to manipulate Postfix configuration directly via its own
configuration files, or using some other interface (ie. a web interface to
manipulate the mySQL-based configuration perhaps?). In the former case there
is nothing to stop a stray typing error breaking mail delivery for the whole
virtual server. A freeVSD module would be expected to prevent that kind of
invalid configuration being entered in the first place, which can save an
ISP an awful lot of support queries....
