Idaya:

I see that 1.4.10 is currently in CVS but not available for download from
the freevsd.org site? What is the reason for this?

On the surface, it seems to be attempts to have people purchase the CDROM
instead. I realize that you guys are looking to be in business selling this
distribution, but if you do intend to be an open source company, it seems
you should do what all open source companies that use the GPL do: "make it
available" just as the license says you should.

Redhat just released 7.2. It's available for download now. You still
cannot buy the box set anywhere. That's because it's easier to download
that to ship.

I came to this project for 3 reasons:
1. It provides a great solution that our company can use for commercial
purposes.
2. It is open source GPL and freely available.
3. If we really need it, we can hire Idaya for services and products.

It seems that #2 is being manipulated slightly. Of course I may be
completely off here. It's just an impression.

I love the project and I will continue to support it. But I thought that I
should voice my concerns on this. As the member of another open source
project (http://www.phpshop.org), I know how troubling it is to see your
work being used for commercial purposes. You think that so much work went
in and not much comes back. But if it is going to be open source, then you
should go all the way.

Thanks for such a wonderful project!

Pablo
