The handbook is not in trac. This makes the vast majority of
documentation beeing not in trac. =P
But if you want to try trac as the public wiki, just open it up and
we'll see... maybe at a first step let people sign up and edit while
logged in. But don't complain afterwards if we get certain problems, my
reply might be: "wouldn't have happend with Mediawiki" ;) But i'm not
going to boycott such an approach.

I _do_ miss features in trac (and other wiki engines like MoinMoin), but
theese are not categorical necessary of course for just collecting
information. But they might be quite handy and ease things for the
admins.
