One thing seems sure is that the world's obsession with multiplying wealth, power and the complexity of our lives will stop being fun and loose credibility, the same way any 'unstoppable' force built on contradictions does. There's nothing more perfectly certain to be embarrassed than a plan to achieve infinity after all. The question is only how and when. The physics is interesting, and some of the choices are better than others. I am not sure that we would enjoy today the classical democracy without much of the modern social flavor. --Mikhail
