D'accord, La Plazuela is quite good, guacamole made table-side in the evening, excellent pork carnitas tacos. Not overly spicy.
Nick, a year or two ago you asked the same question and I sent my list of restaurant recommendations. It still stands but *malheureusement* I deleted it. Perhaps your archives are more intact. La Boca on Marcy Street for wonderful Spanish tapas, I advise getting there early, open Sunday. Although I haven't been there in years, and I don't know why, Il Piatto on Marcy serves quite good Italian, not heavy like Osteria d'Assisi's, across the street from La Boca El Meson on Washington also has excellent tapas but has gotten pretty expensive, closed Sunday and Monday. Give Koi a pass. Pranzo in the Sanbusco Center can be good Italian but is inconsistent, skip the lounge act upstairs. The newish chef at Max's, Mark Connell, is just outstanding, closed Sunday. Restaurant Martín is very good, open Sunday for lunch and dinner, closed Monday. Andiamo on Garfield is reliably good, open 7 days.
