I have a mental algorithm for generating unique passwords on-demand, based on the service, etc.   It is far from foolproof, but easy (enoguh) to remember/reconjure and better than re-using. My favorite LLM *might* be able to guess my generative algorithm, but probably not.  I started using acutely embarassing elements in my passwords in the early days of AEC security when I discovered some of my colleagues occasionally shared their passwords out of convenience.  I decided to make mine so intrinsically embarassing I would *never* share them.  I suppose I just narrowed the range of an exhaustive search by stating such.  Passphrase, not Password...   Chrome and MacOS are also helpful in offering passkey contraction.

I use lastPass - on a laptop, not a phone. Its OK, but wouldn't rave
about it. Web browsers come with ones built in these days, so maybe
that's an option.

But yes, remembering 9999999 passwors is not an option, nor is reusing
the same password.

Also consider using Passkeys where available. They have now become
feasible to use on Linux in thelast 6 months, due to Firefox getting
passkey management.

Bet.
I really don't want to have to remember 9999999 passwords.
Reddit said: protonpass is good and I guess bitwarden is to. I tried that with
android and wowza. Rough.

So I thought I'd ask: Do folks use a password manager? if so what's good?
