If you're trying to do LaTeX this late, I'll assume it's for class tomorrow(today?)... Take the easy route out and copy your files to Kronos and compile your latex there. As for your problem, what program are you using to work with LaTeX, if you are using one at all? Can you copy-paste the output so that we can see the exact errors? The more information the better.

BTW, if it can find "amssymb", there must be something wrong with a LaTeX path somewhere...perhaps bad configuration or installation, because I'd think it'd be impossible to come by a LaTeX system that didn't have that package. :-) (So you surely must have that package on your computer...just that your TeX can't find it.)
