A Birther is someone who believes that the US president was secretly born in
Kenya (a country that did not exist at the date of his birth), and that a
conspiracy involving his parents, the state of Hawaii and local Hawaiian
newspapers was started before he was born to disguise that fact. Birthers with
lower lead content in their blood claim that he cannot be President because -
like past Republican President Chester A Arthur - both of his parents were not
American citizens at birth.
This is not to be confused with a "Deather", though by and large they are the
same folks. Deathers believe that the effort to reform the US healthcare
system is a veiled effort to euthanize the elderly of America, reasoning (not
to stretch the meaning of the word) that - as happens in such socialist
hell-holes as the UK, Sweden and Canada - once The Guvernment is given complete
and unquestioned control of healthcare they will choose to deny medicine to old
people. I believe the theory is that this will endear the ruling party with
the younger voters who will then inherit Grandpa's old slippers.
