I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some
light on....
1.) Does anyone know how the variable caching for client variables work when
you have a database backend. The CF manual says that client variables are
cached on all reads and all writes. I'm assuming this applies no matter what
storage method is used? I'm also wondering if this means that if I have a
large structure/array stored in a client variable using WDDX, that once I
read it, it's cached until, it's updated? Would that mean that there
wouldn't be a db hit every time a client variable was used/read/written? Or,
would there be a db hit every time to update the client.lastvisit and
client.hitcount built-in variables?
2.) Does anyone know how to handle server scoped variables in a clustered
environment (preferably NT). I know server variables by default don't span
multiple servers because they're stored in RAM. I'm thinking, if there's
not a better way, you could have a handler (a custom tag, etc.) made to one
cf server that creates/updates all server scoped variables on all known
machines....?
Any ideas/help is appreciated.
Thanks,

Subject: RE: Cold Fusion using 100% of CPU
Well, I have, during development, set up an eternal fuseaction loop where
index.cfm and the calling template were going in circles forever. However, I
think you'd notice that one right away during development...
Now, is it CFAS, CF Executive, or CF RDS that is going 100% CPU?
