That's a fine attitude to take for a "web site" developer.
However, Allaire's plans for the future include widely standardized
enterprise level functionality/compatibility. Those who think ColdFusion can
solve every problem are just plain wrong.

Maybe you should take a look at the JRun list sometime:

Okay, you guys are eggin' me on, I'm gonna post again...

After thinking it out a bit more, Allaire might as well try to port CF over
to Java. I figuer, hey, either I can waste months learning Java, or I can
just keep using CF and let somebody else worry about writing that Java
nonsense. Java Shmava. I'm not fluent in VB, I'm not fluent in C++, I'm not
fluent in Delphi, and I ain't gonna even bother cracking the books open on
Java...

So, I guess, having though on it for an additional 30 seconds, I really
shouldn't care if Allaire writes CF in GW-Basic for DOS, so long as it
works. They wanna write in Java, fine. If it makes investors, who probably
know zero about software, think Allaire is good because the word "Java"
appears on some documents, fine.

I just hope Allaire makes darn sure CF5.0 is a true UPgrade...
