First of all I'm not a license expert, but I think if you embed the engine
in another product you have to give away your sources.
In the past you had to pay something to TXC the company who made MySQL
(Michael Widenius coded more than 80%, actually).

More or less they are the same, maybe the GPL (made by R. Stallmann and
Free Software Foundation) is more opened than Apache License.
